Chan2016: Nigeria vs Guinea

As the battle for supremacy in the group standings enter the final stages, Nigeria’s Home based Eagles will be gunning for a victory to avoid any upset and book CHAN-super-eaglestheir place at the top of the summit.
Their opponent, Guinea, are not new to the competition and they will do all they can to make their Nigerian counterparts work harder for their victory.
While a draw will ensure passage into the quarterfinals for the Eagles, Guinea on second spot will fancy their chances of qualification ahead of the book makers favourites, Tunisia.
After two games, the Super Eagles lead Group C with 4 points while Guinea is ahead of Tunisia in second place based on goals scored while the Mena of Niger brings up the rear.
Should Nigeria lose to Guinea, the outcome of Tunisia vs Niger game will possible reset the table from the current standings.
While Sunday Oliseh, the Eagles coach, has assured that his boys will be firing on all cylinders to consolidate their top spot and remain at the capital-Kigali, but their opponent has threatened to make life unbearable for the Eagles when they file out at the Gisenyi stadium, near the border town with Congo, three hours by road from Kigali, the capital of Rwanda.
“We know Nigeria is a good side and they have been doing extremely well in this tournament but we are not afraid of them. I’m confident Nigeria can be beaten come Tuesday.”Said Mohammed Kanfory Bangoura, the Guinea Head Coach.
Nigeria will go into today’s battle as favourites having met with Guinea 16 times at full international level with Nigeria having an edge over the Syli National cumulatively.
Both team will head into the game without injury worries and Nigeria striker Chisom Chiakatara has passed a late fitness test to be included in today’s line up.
